Whenever I am taking my meals I used to take more water that is up to 5 glasses per meals or eating. Somebody told me that it is not fine, you have to take at least one glass of water per eating. and in the leasure time you can take as much as you can. Drinking so much water during the meals is not fine and is harmful to health. What is your opinion.

We should drink 8 glasses of water a day to be healthy and if you were spreading this out over the day it would be fine but the fact that you drink so much with your meals means you are eating less and if you are underweight this could be a problem . If you are overweight then this may cause you to reatin some fluid as you are drinking to much at one time which could be a problem as well . If you could try drinking less with your meals and spread it out more evenly over the day it would be better for you . If you are this thirsty at meal time it might be a good idea to be tested to make sure there is not some medical reason for this as this is one of the symptoms for diabeties . Best of luck !!

Drinking water during meals is fine. Most people need about 8 glasses of water per day for proper hydration. But they should be spread throughout the day. So 1 or 2 glasses per meal would be best in my opinion. I drink one glass with breakfast and one or two with lunch, usually 2 with dinner then I always keep a water bottle handy throughout the day to sip on.

Hi kkjayarajan. I think if you have too much water when you are taking meals you will have tummy bug. Drinking a lot of water will aggravate your stomach's burthen.
