How many children is too many?

I have a friend who has 3 children. Because of her religion she is unable to take contraceptives to prevent pregnancy. She tends to fall pregnant as soons as she stop breast feeding her last child. She said to me that there will be no end to the amount of kids she will have. Surely you can have too many kids? Whats your views?

I suppose you can have as many children as you can support adequately. If you can't afford them, then you shouldn't have them.
Also, it takes a big toll on your body. There was a woman at the nursing home where I used to work who had 13 children. She had numerous problems with prolapsed uterus because she had no muscle tone to hold it in. She had to get a ring put in to hold it in place.

I think your religion belief would not stop you from planning your family. There are so many natural ways that could help in preventing unnecessary pregnancy. About your question, for me as long as you could give them your full attention and care, you can support all their needs and their rights of living and having a normal life, this is my gauge of how many kids you could have.

Its not my religion, it's my friends, but yes I do believe that as long as you can give them the attention and the love they need then that should gauge the number of children to have.

I wouldnt personally say that 1 was too much. I have a child of my own but some may not wish to have children at all

too many children is when your friend says so . the only reason i say this is because i have for childeren and the last three are a year apart and were all born in december and everybady kept telling me i couldn't handle them but i stuck through it and couldn't be happier don't get me wrong it's hard and alot of work but it really depends on the person i have a friend who has one and can hardly handle that one so really i'd say it depends on the person the only draw back is it can also be dangerous haveing children so close together

my dad's sister has 8 kids, my dad's bro has 6 kids and i'm the 4th our of 5 kids. As you said, it all depends on how much love and attention you can give them. My cousins are all well brought up.. doesn't seem to have any animosity towards each other and we are all a close knit bunch. So, basically, if the parents are responsible enough, I have no say at all on how many children i think are too many. It also depends on how financially sound you are. For me, I'm having my 2nd kid now. And let's just see what the future has in hold for me.. :)
