How many times a discussion is viewed? Would you like to know?

Okay I was sitting here looking through the discussions and a thought just occured to me that I wanted to share with everyone. On our profile pages it tells us how many times our profile has been viewed for the day and since we became a member. I am still not sure why this really matters to be able to know this information. But I am sure there is a good reason behind it. So I got to thinking. Do you think it would be beneficial to know how many times our discussions have been viewed? Why or why not? What do you think would be the benefits of having this feature? I'm sure all of you are the same as me. There are many discussions that I view but do not respond to for one reason or another. So would you like to know how many times your discussions have been viewed? If so, should everyone be able to see how many times a discussion has been viewed? Or should it just be available to that person who started the discussion? Maybe this would be a good feature for mylot to add. Please share your insights!

I have already sent mylot a message. They have responded back that they will forward the message on to upper management. So lets keep our fingers crossed that they like the idea and include it in thier next update.

Hehe, is this to satisfy some ego? I am not sure if the statistics would matter much but I guess it is an interesting one to have. I wouldn't mind knowing this figure though it is not someone I must desperately have either. :P

I agree with you that it is not something we desperately need. But I think it would be a good addition. I would give members an idea as to whether thier topics are decent or not. Satisfy some ego? That's a good one, but that never crossed my mind. I don't consider myself to be a great member with very interesting discussions. I feel I am just an average person here to share my thoughts.

I think I like your idea. This way you would know whether or not your on the right track. so you know what kind of discussions have a good response ratio. Then one wouldnt start useless discussions, if more people look but dont respond.
Good idea. I think everyone should be able to see, so they can also see what are good and bad discussions.

Sure that would be nice- Then we could see if the topic was liked or not- Although I don’t really care how many times someone views it- I like to know how many people respond to it- I think if it has been viewed way more than responses.. I might feel bad- Oh it wasn’t good enough- or not a good topic- But those are just my thoughts-

Yeah that was my thinking. It would help us know which topics are good and which are bad. But I can see what you are talking about it making us feel bad. Then again it could be a good motivational tool to have.

Yeah, a counter would be neat. Not necessary for me to have it, but I am curious and would like to see!! I think everyone should be able to see it. Just a counter at the bottom of the page. Neat idea, I never really thought of it.

Before I posted this discussion I did a search to see if anyone else had started this same discussion. I was really surprised that no one else had thought of this. I am hoping mylot will include this feature in the future.

I think that woiuld be an awesome idea. Also maybe a rating on the discussion could be cool. I hope when Mylot updates its features those would be one of them :)

Yeah, lets hope this discussion gets a lot of positive responses. So that way maybe mylot will include this when they update thier features.
