Its pure ignorence & fear. My wolfdogs are the biggest teddybears you've ever seen but people would still react badly at the sight of them.

ill informed people will always misjudge things ..breds of dogs are no different...rottwiellers, pitbulls, staffordshire bull terriers and dobermans are all tarred with the same brush...although it cannot be denied that different breds do have different characteristics and some dogs are obviuosly more prone to be agressive a lot of the problems we have with dog ownership is the dog owners themselves...i have had two boxers in the last 12 years..people actually walk away to the other side of the pavement when im out with her on the lead..purely because they "look" scary..if you know anything about Boxers you will know they are very sensitive and loyal dogs and especially good with children which is part of the reason we had them in the first place...my middle daughter was actually scared of dogs.. we dont know where her fear came from but part of the reason we got a Boxer pup was to overcome her fear of all dogs whiLe at the same time making her aware that not all dogs (or owners) are the saME... I HAVE BEEEN OUT WITH MY DOG AND WITNESSED OTHER DOG OWNERS BEATING THEIR DOGS SIMPLY BECASUE THEY HADNT OBEYED A COMMAND....owners train their dogs to be agrssive becasue they think it is macho to have a vicious..in the UK it is now common for gangs of youths to walk out with bull terriers with the sole intention of intimidating other people and dog owners, they have become a cool accessory to own...it increases their street cred...god help us....much stricter rules for dog ownership should be brought in..and dog owners should be made more responsibe for the wellbeing of their animals or have them taken away from them

Well not sure what your getting at but I hate small minded people that pick on animals in any way or form. Good example is the PITBULL breed. Cause of all these bad stories we hear about pitbulls attacking now its almost impossible to have one. Here in Canada you have to have them fixed and they have to be older then when the rules came out or they put them down, also they have to be muzzled at all times and on no longer then a 3 foot leash. Also you have to get pictures when registering them. I think this is very unfair since these animals only did what they where taught. Whats the point in wiping out one breed? After that people will move on to another. Who fights for these animals right to live? Really nobody because the pitbull breed is in serious danger of being wiped out if the laws keep going after them.
