Just earlier today I found out someone I used to be friends with has been scamming people for years. I wasn't close friends with this person. He used to date an old friend of mine. When he would describe his job he would say he works in internet marketing. All we knew is he worked from home making lots of money on the internet. This is what he did: He had several website up for stuffing envelopes. He claimed people could make thousands of dollars stuffing envelopes from home. He would offer them a business pack for a set amount of money. Once he got the money these people would never hear from him again. He would advertise online and through classifieds and mailers. Of course he would use several different business names, addresses and phone numbers. A lot of people have started coming forward with this scam. So far he has 236 people who have claimed to have been scammed by him. And the court document I read said he has to pay $1,000 for each person he scammed plus court costs and lawyer fees. That's going to be a lot of money. He's lucky he's not going to prison. Me and one of my friends thought something shady was going on when he pulled his kids out of school in the middle of the school year to go on a cruise. It turns out when he was on the cruise he was supposed to be in court. Noone has heard from him in a couple of months. I'm suspecting he is looking for somewhere to hide which is only going to make things worse. I just can't believe I was friends with someone like this and didn't know it! For all of you people out there wanting to make easy money don't do stuffing envelopes. It's a complete scam!
