Is there something wrong in a teacher-student relationship?

When I was in College, one of my teacher has a relationship with my classmate, although the they are both single but the teacher is 12 years older than the girl. And when I saw them together I find them so sweet. Some schools here in our place, they won't allow this kind of relationship, it's either to kick the teacher or the student. What do you think?... Something wrong with it?

Most colleges are against student-teacher relationships. Because the teacher is thought to have influence over the student, and it can cause rumors and suspicion on campus. I think it is inappropriate in the same way it is inappropriate for boss to date an employee. However it is not immoral. Still at most colleges I think the teachers would be risking his job by dating a student.
