Extra Marital Relationship on rise!!

Why extra marital affairs have become very much common now a days. Is it anything to do with our attitude & commitment towards relationships. People do not think it necessary to share their feelings to their partner.They depend on relationships out of marriage daily for their personal problems. What may be reason for this change? Any idea?

As India develops and modernises, it follows 'the west' closely.
I believe that adultery rates are a result of the instant gratification mindset we all have today. In the past people were more accepting of the need to work hard and be committed for a long time to make relationships succeed. These days people are more selfish and it is easier to have flings with new people to provide instant-ish! satisfaction.
I guess that the problem is more serious in India because of the strong traditions relating to marriage. Adultery rates in the UK are terrible, but people are marrying less. I think that lots of people in the UK get married because girls want to be brides rather than because they are committed to being together for life.
