as my country (Canada) and the US close in on our national holidays (Canada Day - July 1) and the 4th of July (Independance day) i try and think about the good life that we have here in North America... There are so many people that are suffering due to drought, disease, famine etc, so we are quite fortunate that we do live in such a land as this... you might say that this is kind of like thanksgiving lol...what makes you feel patriotic to your country?

Nothing. I don't like it anymore. Stupid people run it, they don't do anything to help us. it's getting over crowded, we can't get houses but people "moving" here from another country can and then they pack more inside. (this is mainly do to being annoyed) but it's not how it used to be. Also I don't mind people who move here, I just don't like "large waves" being allowed to take our jobs, houses etc when there's already an issue for people like myself :( ~Joey P.s I've been waiting to rent a council house due to saving up to buy one. (1 year old child) living in one room and we get told wait. (unlike next door) who are polish and get an house straight away.... *flames come out... sorry!

There is no socialism, although one candidate for President would like to change that. We are free as Americans and there are a world of oppurtunities for most of us. We are a forgiving nation and even though our speech is not always right, we have free speech. I can't help but be patriotic to a country where men laid down their lives because they believed that freedom was more than a concept. I look at the American flag and am proud. Sure, there is much that I would change, but that doesn't change the essence of what we are freely given. To live without fear to have the rights God wanted us all to have.
