Do you have patient teaching young children?

I have patient teaching other kids, but impatient with my own kid. I am in the process of learning how to be patient with my own children. I know I always tend to have high expectation of my children. Previously I will get angry and start scolding and punish them. Now, I try to control myself by walking away to prevent my "outbreak". How about you? Are you patient with all kid regardless other or your own. I am very patient with other kid but impatient with my own children. Please share your view and experience.
