The biggest transfer this summer yet! I've always thought that this was a possibility, but now that it's actually happened, what do you guys feel about it? I know a lot of Arsenal fans are hearbroken, and well, i think it is a shame for the EPL to loose him.

Is it an official news? I read in italian soccer newspapers that Internazionale FC wuold like to buy Henry, too. I'm sure that Arsenal fans are heartbroken, because even if Arsenal young players are very good in perspective, however Henry is a world-class one!

Yeah, i read that Inter are trying to hijack the move as well...offering 10 mill and Adriano in exchange. But it was on Soccernet, so it's got to be quite accurate.

Well, it is confirmed...finally! Barcelona's gain is surely Arsenal's loss. BIG loss in my opinion. How will Arsenal recover from this, I wonder. I guess it's left to be seen in the new EPL season, but I think all diehard Arsenal fans will moan the loss. But I guess no one can really expect Henry to stay at Arsenal forever, and begrudge him the chance to find greener pastures. Great players will want to play for great clubs, especially in Europe, and win some honours before they call it quits. For a professional, to be associated with the best clubs around is surely an honour and legacy to be remembered for.

I think Spurs paid 16M pounds for Darren Bent, around the same price Barca is getting Henry. But Bent is reportedly going to get 45K pounds a week compared to 130K a week Henry will command at Barca, a big gulf in terms of salary. But some people feel that Arsenal should have asked Barca to pay a larger transfer fee for Henry, given his reputation and proven quality.

that is true - he'll always be remembered, but i think it's not just Arsenal, but the entire premier league. In saying that, i think Arsenal should have sold him a year ago - they would have had twice as much as he was signed for now. BTW - do you think it's just that he's sold for 16 mill, when Darren Bent is touted for 17.5 million?

Well, lets put it this way, would you rather have Henry or Bent as your first choice forward? given that they're about the same cost, Henry is older than Bent, and well, the wage issue? Don't forget it's not just goals that he creates - but also assists and mazy runs...

YEa this really sad , but henry leaving arsenal for just 16 million pound seems to be a joke yea ... he is surely worth more than that

i guess arsenal better kiss the premier (and all other leagues) goodbye.. unless they got a plan up there sleeves..

He is definitely worth a lot more, but i think that Arsenal have got a lot of young talent. It doesn't take one man to win the league/champions league, it's a whole team, and what a team they have. Don't forget a certain Mr Walcott that's there! I think he's got a lot of potential.

I think he deserves a chance at some silverware and at Arsenal he doesn't have a chance because they are up against Chelsea and Man U who have more resources and who are willing to loose money in the sake of winning things. Arsenal is all about farming new talent and winning as many games as possible with their youth program. Unfortunately that just won't win titles anymore. So I wish Henry good luck at Barca, although I hate them and wish they would lose all their matches.

Well, i'm sure anyone that's not a Barcelona supporter would probably agree. But you've got a point, they are a farm for young talent, but they're not getting the kids to make the breakthrough to the World Class category. I never quite liked Henry because of his arrogance, but i did admire his abilities to just win games.

I do feel sorry for you, and it is a shame - but you guys survived the second half of last season without him - i'm sure that counts for something. :) Cheer up - i'm sure there'll be some other young striker that will take over the mantle!

I just wonder if he can cope in barcelona with all those top quality world class players already there. but the question is would arsenal be able to manage without him. They have proven they have younger talents that can easily take over and for the past few games towards the end of the season they seem to be the ones doing all the work. May be they can cope after all.

I agree with you! Even though Arsenal are not one of my favorite teams, they've always displayed the kind of football that is entertaining and i've always found it amazing that Arsene Wenger has been able to unearth gem after gem. I think they will come, but they'll have to get over the initial shock first.

Yes they need to get over the shock and fast. There are big clubs there in the premiership and in Europe that just would not waiot for them. But they at least have some really good young players whocan perform. We just need to see the players they buy next.

Henry will joint to barca because Arsene Wenger going too. And that that transfer will be biggest record after Zidane from Juventus to Madrid transfer.

You're saying that Arsene Wenger is going to have a bigger transfer fee than Zidane? How does that work?
