I haven't been here for a while. Glad to be back. I lost my baby boy march 16th. He was sleeping and he spit up and choked to death. We put him on his back to sleep and he couldn't turn his head or roll over so his spit up could run out of his mouth instead of going back into his throat. So I wonder how safe is "BACK TO SLEEP". Does anyone have any encourging words or similar stories. He was almost 3 months old and is missed by all of us. I will post a pic soon. Thanks to anyone who responds.

He was beautiful. I am so sorry for your loss. Be kind to yourself and give yourself lots of time and space. The back to sleep is actually a pretty new idea, they used to tell parents to put their children on their stomachs. If i am remembering correctly the back to sleep was for babies unable to turn their heads yet they would sufficate on the bed. I've always been a bit jumpy about babies sleeping, I still check on my 3 year old in the night. It is one reason I am so glad to cosleep, having my baby next to me all night saved my sanity. I could always feel and hear him breathing.
