When Do You Start Buying Stuff For The New baby?

One of the thingsI keep asking my husband as this is our first pregnancy is when do people usually start buying essentials for the new baby? I honestly have no idea? As I am only 3 months now I feel shy to walk into a baby store and pick up things, but then I think why not? Is it better to wait till the 8th or 9th month? Mothers who have been through this, your advice is needed.

Well..Its easier to pick up things everytime you get payed. Like one week get bottles, the next get a bouncy seat, the next get diapers..ect.. Its easier to get a little here and there so when the baby comes its all there waiting. And you dont have to go out at the last min and get everything!

There's no need to wait - the sooner you buy things, the longer you have to get it all so you don't have to come up with hundred of dollars all at once. Once you get past the risks of the 1st trimester then you'll be fine so once we hit 12 weeks/3 months, we started buying things, just buying things each week or couple of weeks to spread the costs out over the pregnancy. I don't think it's a good idea to wait because you never know, the stress of baby furniture hunting could cause you to go in to labour (at the last section) & you don't want that to happen if you haven't bought anything! I think the sooner you buy things & the sooner you have everything, the more you can relax & not worry about anything for the last of the pregnancy, when you'll be too tired to do anything anyway!

For me and my hubby we would by all through out the pregnancy because we did not want all the baby expenses to add up all at once. Don't feel shy to just walk in and get the things you need just because you are three months. Some people shop the moment they find out they are prego. Well, congrats on your baby.

umm i LOVED baby shopping, i still do! lol i didnt buy much when i was pregnant. but that was only because i knew i was having 2 baby showers, and i would get most the stuff i needed. if i didnt get it i just waited till she was born to see weather or not i need the idem or not. if you want to buy clothes i suggest buying them bigger, like 3-6, 6-9 months, because i got sooo many clothes that were newborn or 0-3months.

well, with my first, I started right away. It was fun, I redid his room more than 50 times, getting ready for him....my second, I had some things from the first, all I really needed was a carseat. MY guy said wait, dont do it all, well, never listen to a guy...I was in the hospital after giving birth and he had to go buy the carseat, I Wanted to help pick it out ya know? This time, I am going to wait until about 6 months since I have some things from the last two, already, and there will only be a few things I need. I think, whenever you want to, go for it! It is a fun, exciting time in a woman's life, and also, take advantage of being able to go in a store, browse, and be by yourself without a baby to lug out of the car and tend to while you shop! =) You're pregnant, enjoy it! =)

It's up to you. If you wanna shop earlier go just with the white ( neutral color ) so either you get a boy or girl you can't get wrong. Or wait until your baby shower, see what stuff you'll get and whatever you don't get you buy it after.
