Pete sampras vs Roger federer?

This may seem ridiculous comparing Pete and Roger.But I would like to know who would have mastered the game when Roger would have played during Sampras's peak days and vice versa.It might be difficult to compare the two darlings of wimbledon.I feel that both these guys have almost the same style of playing and both are cool headed.Federer beat Sampras the last time they played but it was during Pete's decline.I would always like to fancy a 50:50 than to bet against anyone.What do you guys think?
