Why is it that the massive part of the MySpace userbase is pretty stupid? Is it something about "social networking" that breeds stupidity?

myspace annoys me sometimes, its a lot like high school, who can have the most friends etc...and its almost as if it has all these unwritten rules...like a lot people ('friends') read blogs and bulletins but never respond back, and people can post some stupid survey and expect responses but then when people have something decent to say-no one cares! thats my rant for the day! :-)

I actually tend to agree with you on that one. There's way too many ideas on MySpace anymore. It's not even that much of a fun place to hang out when you have people that are always bringing drama or squabbling. And honestly, it just scares me when you have 17 year old monthers with MySpace's taking pictures down their shirts to be "cool". It's just...like..."You have a kid! Take care of THEM!" You know? It drives me up the wall. Some days I have to truly wonder if this is what modern culture believes is the best path for them to take in life. If it is, well, the future's screwed.

thats so right! i have been reading this book "how to be free" by tom hodgkinson, its great, its about how to live a more simpler life, as we are brought up to believe there is only one way. i believe myspace reflects this "brainwashed world" as people don't question life and society much.....

I have no idea to be quite honest. I've actually not noticed it and I have one of those. It's really weird and I don't know what else to say exactly. Why they spam or not, I don't know. Each person is different I suppose. My guess could be to not be themselves or the fact that this is how they are actually. Quite an interseting discussion.

I completely agree with you on the fact that each person is different, and I completely understand that as well. But when the "differences" become something that's just so *stupid* that it makes you want to kill yourself so you don't have to see the "evolution" of modern culture, it's gone too far. Like the example I used below - a seventeen year old mother taking "trendy" MySpace pictures with the camera pointed down her shirt. It makes you wonder where some of these human's priorities lie. Honestly, I just think people like that shouldn't be allowed to have children.

Ehh... That's about the two sides of it. Ireally can't find a happy medium. Some of my friends are on there so it's why I stay, but the fact remains that many of the people who use MySpace are just complete weirdos. It's okay if you block and stay away from the people like that, though.
