oh i shop all year round! there are great sales right after christmas that i get stuff at...when i see something on sale that is great for someone on my list, why not pick it up? it saves headaches at christmas time and it also saves money as you are not blowing your paycheque at once buying everyone presents!!

Geez, it must be nice to be rich and have money in August to spend on Xmas, 5 months away. Do you want my list? lol.

I always start my Xmas shopping early, for this Xmas coming, not only will we have our daughter but 6 nieces, 2 nephews & then my brother, sister & parents etc so it'll be a very costly exercise! Basically, the bigger stores here - Target, Big W, K-Mart, Toyworld etc start Xmas lay-by in June-July & then that gives you 6-7 months to pay it all off! I usually get all the kids stuff put on to those lay-bies first & that gives me longer to pay them all off, since kids toys are so dear & we have 9 kids to buy gifts for. For my family i do it bit by bit, if i have the money for 1 thing, i get it & put it aside, then the next time i'm there i have another look & pick things up whenever i can afford to do so! The earlier you do it, the easier it is to have things paid off in time & you don't need a lot of money right before Xmas & you also don't have to worry about certain toys being sold out - start early, finish early! It's less stressful too!
