Vaudville

I'm in a play and we've discussed doing it Vaudville still. I'm not so sure I know what they mean. I know what the Vaudville ara is and all that but how do I act Vaudville? Is it silly, dramatic, stiff? I'm confused. I need help.

I'm not from that era but from what I've seen its silly, exaggerated (with an emphasis on exaggerated), slapstick comedy with one liners, sometimes bawdy jokes, puns, and usually performed with a song and dance routine. The jokes are usually done with one person being the straight-man.
