Friends at Work, Can we really trust them?

I have many wonderful friends at work but sometimes I wonder with the things I may tell them is if I can really trust them and how deep of a conversation can I tell them and will they go behind my back and just tell everyone we work with? I think I have one friend at work that does this because of others telling me on how she says certain things about me and even my own family but when I confront her it seems all fine and dandy but now when i speak to her I feel as if I can't tell her everything like I once did because I am afraid she'll just go behind my back and complain about it and tell everyone on some personal things in which I thought I could trust her friendship to keep to herself. Have you ever had friends and then ended up finding out they we're/are so two faced and gossipers? -Lora

I found from first hand experience that it's never a good thing to tell anyone that you work with any private details - be it of a personal nature or involving work. Why? You never know when someone is going to have to pick and choose their friends at work and if that happens, sensitive things you may have said could be brought up and used against you.

You are very right and sometimes it is very hard to tell if you can really trust them to not tell the entire company your personal life. I have many other friends at work and I know I can certainly trust them with my life but this one person, eh, not so much. Thanks so much for your comment have a great day -Lora
