I find that bluetooh is probably one of the most effective and cheapest wirless setups. Do you think that bluetooth will dominate the wireless industry and elimate PC cards and routers?

Personally I dont like bluetooth at all. I work at a grocery store, and it is irritating when you think that somebody is talking to you, but then you realize that they are answering questions, not asking them. I really feel bad for the cashiers because some people dont even hang up, they just talk to both the cashier and the person on the phone. With a cell phone, people will pull the microphone part away and you can tell that they are talking to you. Otherwise, I think bluetooth is great, since you could drive and talk without breaking the law, since some states have laws against driving while talking on a "hands on" cell phone. You would still need a router, unless you mean that you would get a signal from a tower. I have a wireless router, so I can use my laptop anywhere in the house. I dont think that it will replace routers because you would have to pay a fee to get service, which would be more expensive than a broadband service.
