Remember the story about the guy who's wife and kids got shot in their car?

Does anyone know what they discovered? Do they have any idea who did it or how it happened? I was thinking that the husband had to have done it. I mean, his wife and kids were fatally shot. Kids being shot multiple times. How could he escape with just a shot to the hip? Just didn't make any sense at all. I think it was in Illinois.
