Every morning when I leave home at about 6am there are cyclers riding up and down my street. I live in a quiet street down the bottom of a mountain so they like to ride up and down the mountain every morning. When I reverse out of my driveway, drive down the street, and wait at the end of my street for them to finish coming down the mountain I get so angry because they have no respect for me or other drivers. They just take their time, riding slowly talking to eachother. Half the time they don't even stay on the right side of the road and I have to make extra sure that I don't hit them! I know bike riders think they have the same rights as cars on the road and they're very stuck up when it comes to expressing this I think. My argument is, car drivers pay registration and contribute to the upkeep of the roads whereas cyclers don't pay anything. I think they should not have the same rights as car drivers at all. I don't know how many times I've seen a cyclist coming past from the corner of my eye and I could have easily hit them. I would have to live with that guilt for the rest of my life. I think it's time for cyclists to get off the roads. What do you think?

i usually agree with your discussions, but i have to say that i admire cyclists for their efforts, and energy conservation. more and more people i know are riding thieir cycles... i have to know if you mean bicycles, or motor cycles/ there is a difference!

I think that the cyclists should use their way. Sometimes its really quite difficult to handle them...They are not bothered which vehicle is coming behind, the traffic rules and they too dont pay any fine. Why dont they be fined if violate any traffic rules????

I think that cyclers need to respec the road just as we do while driving our vehicles. I find that I am always waiting for the cyclist and feel that I have to give them the right of way while cycling on the roads. There were quite a few cyclist here just a few weeks ago and I couldn't get by them due to the on coming traffic it took me forever to get to the end of the road, further more they weren't even staying on the side of the road.

Downtown in Seattle, there are a lot of people who ride their bikes to and from work. I have seen quite a few of them who really don't seem to have much regard for anything around them, and I can't even imagine attempting to weave in and out of traffic on a bicycle! I much prefer roads that have a designated bike lane or area, as it seems a whole lot safer for everyone involved. My big concern about telling cyclists that they can't use the roads at all is that then they will be forced onto the sidewalks, and that would make the sidewalks far more dangerous for pedestrians.
