From what materials do you like your jewelry made?

I went to the shop recently to get my ears stretched from 10 gauge to 6 gauge, and the guy behind the counter as well as the piercer were both singing the praises of glass jewelry. I went ahead with that option, and I have to say that I love it! I've always had a lot of difficulty finding metals that my body doesn't react badly to (I may have a slight nickel allergy), and glass seems to be an ideal solution for me. The glass jewelry was also about $25 cheaper than the surgical steel would have been! When you get a new piercing, or buy new jewelry, from what materials do you like it to be made? Do you go with the standard surgical steel, or do you ask for something different? Are you like my mom, with a severe nickel allergy, who can only wear sterling silver or 14 karat gold?

I can't wear cheap jewelry, so i normally but gold or surgical steel. I find that I have best luck with those metals compared to others.

So far except for when I first got my nipples peirced I have used surgical steel. If they have it availble I actually prefer titianium. Never used glass jewlery before. I would be afraid that it would break. Have you had any problems with that at all?
