Yesterday i was fished. For those of yuo who don't know what that is, it's when you get a fake email from somewhere and they ask you for your info. I got one from Bank of America stating that there had been numerous inaccurate attempts to log into my account and I needed to change the info. So I did log in with the link provided, I don't know why but it looked so official. I also thought that it was strange I was just getting an email and not a phone call or something so I picked up the phone and called them as I was clicking the link and signing in. When I talked to the lady she told me that it was fake and we needed to change my info immediately. I did and all was taken care of before anything bad could happen but I couldn't believe that I fell for it. Have any of you ever gotten these emails? Have you fallen for it? Has anyone ever lost money because of this?

It's hard to tell if it's a real thing or not. I get that all the time so I just deleted it and not open the email I don't want to take any chances of virus and such.

I really don't know why I fell for it. I normally don't but I guess I just wasn't thinking.

I have gotten those emails but I always delete them. I know they are fake because I rarely do anything finacially online. And unless you have asked your bank not to send you anything through snail mail they will send you a letter. Also becareful of phone calls you recieve stating the same things as that email. People always try to get your info that way too

I have gotten those when I had BOA and also with Ebay and Paypal. Never open an IM from someone you don't know. Trust me!!!

I would periodically get e-mails from what looked to be paypal. It look so real but if you look at the address bar you can usually see something that doesn't look right. Often when I get these I will just go to the site my self without using a link provided, that way you know you have the real thing. It is very deceiving and hard to tell when someone tried to get you like this.
