Abortion and complications.....

For me i would never end a life in that way it`s not me .Today a young mum asked for my opinion on if i knew if it was normal for her to still have pain and bleeding three months after she had had an abortion .I was so shocked to even hear that she had had one and i felt really sad for the child taken before it could even have a start . But that was her decision and who am i to judge her or her reasons for doing so but i just find it really hard and i have been thinking of it ever since. My question is how long is it considered normal for her to have the pain and bleeding. Everytime she does any housework the symptoms become really bad and she has to lie down. I could only advise her to see a gynocologist to be checked out for infection or other complications. Can anyone add any more for me to tell her. Thankyou for your advise i really appreciate it.

She should definately not have any more problems with pain and or discharge after three month. It takes the same amount of time for the body to recover from a abortion as it does after giving birth.I hope she had it done by a actual doctor.....because if not....she could have some serious problems. I'm really glad that you put your believes aside and are trying to help her....not everybody would have done that.

I think she needs to see a doctor, that does not seem normal to me. Bleeding and pain for three months sounds like a long time. I feel the way you do about abortion. I am not for it, but I will not condemm someone for doing it, who am I to judge. We have to make our own choices in life and then live with those choices. I do feel sorry for the lady.

Theres a lot of complication specially to the women who have commit an abortion method. And that is mentally and in health. Thats why I am against in abortion.

Let's put aside all moral opinions and/or judgments. It sounds that your friend is having a serious medical problem. Was this a legal termination? Was it early in the pregnancy (say under 12 weeks) or was it further along? Has she been back for the follow up visit? Has the pain & bleeding been continuous since having the abortion or had it stopped & now has started back up again? In an early termination, some women do not bleed for more than an hour or two after the procedure. I think a few days may be considered normal- but several weeks or in this case months would NOT be considered normal. By this point her period should have resumed, on a more or less normal cycle - assuming she had regular cycles before the termination. So if it stopped & started back up again, it may be an especially rough period she's experiencing. She definitely needs to see her doctor immediately. This may be an unrelated illness & the termination just happened to happen when it started acting up. I'm not a doctor, but there are several blood disorders that cause a person not to be able to clot when they start to bleed. They run the spectrum from mostly mild conditions like low iron levels, to serious conditions like platelet disorders & lukemia. Please encourage her to get to a doctor or hospital immediately.
