How and why do you pray to God?

Do you pray to God daily? if so then why do you pray - to ask for forgiveness, to ask for help or to thank Him. I have found that God always fulfills my wishes even when I just think about them, so I just thank Him every day. If I was to ask for something, I would not know what is best for me, so I leave it to Him to decide what is good for me and provide that. What is your relationship with God?

Hi, dhbattji, Every day morning after taking bath I pray to God to keep myself and my family happy for the day. I especially stand in front of mother's photograph and pray that the day should go smoothly and happily. Evening also I do the same things. I do not know whether I have real "BAKTHI" (love and respect) to God. I always have the feeling that there is some "MIGHTY THINGS IS THERE THAT CONTROL THE WHOLE UNVERSE".

Bhakti is the way you look at things in life, it is not action but a way of life and it starts with praying to God and thanking Him so I am sure you are on the path of Bhakti (devotion). Happiness is all we want in life rather than material things and I am sure God will answer your prayers.

First of all, I think I dont need a reason to Pray to God at all. He is the one who made me and He is the one who gave whatever I wanted so far. With that, I pray everyday, infact every now and then and thank for him for everything that happens to me during the course of the day. Its gives me some peace of mind and satisfaction, when I do my prayers and say a Thanks to my God. I feel more comfortable and strong, once I complete my Prayer every time. God is my Guide, Friend, Father and everything to me.

Beautifully said. We don't need a reason because our being here is reason enough to thank and pray to Him. I also derive great strength and peace of mind by praying. It is a very powerful means to unite with God.

Yes I pray to God daily. I beg nothing. Just for mental peace I spend time in worship room. I have separate room for prayer. Whatever things are with us are given by the grace of God then why should we beg again and again. We should only work hard. Rest will automatically. I suggest all to pray God even in happy moment not only in trouble.

I pray every night before i sleep. I pray for forgiveness, guidance, protection, good health, graces, and blessing for me, my family, love ones and friends. Sometimes I pray just to let Him know my problems and joyful moments. Your right! we should pray to Him, thanking Him for everything that He does for us in our everyday living. What we ask will be given on the right time. God knows what we asked and thinks so their is no reason telling Him or asking Him for your desire.

yes we should share our happy moments with Him, that is also a part of meditation, remembering all the good things that have happened and thanking God for them. Even reading the replies brings me closer to God.

I feel the need to pray when the need strikes me. The Bible asks that we pray without ceasing, and as a fellow believer, I do my best to pray daily and without ceasing. If things go my way, Praise the Lord and Thank You; If they don't, well, Lord, they didn't, but Praise you just the same. I don't feel I have the greatest relationship with God, but I feel that it is a work in progress if you may say so.

Great and candid answer, If we pray only when we want something, then it is like calling your mom to ask for something, once in a while moms do like us to call just to say that we are fine and thinking about her - with God also it should be like this. Work in progress is better than standing still. I am also working towards it.

I pray to God because he answers all my prayers and I believe his powers, his promise to all his people. Remeber that he is the King of all kings and Lord of all Lords. He makes everything possible.

Thanks should be the principle part of our prayers, because He has given us so much without our asking for it and even if He does not answer a particular prayer it is probably for our best. Thank you for such a good answer.
