So last night was the 4th of July fireworks in my City. And we took the kids to go see a concert by a group called The Blues Brotherhood. They were a spin off of the blues brothers and they were not to bad. There was also a short magic show for the kids to watch. And following all this was the fireworks display. And I was so proud of all of my kids for not being scared of the noise of the fireworks. They all just sat there and watched them with anazment. In years past it never failed at least one of my kids would cry. Not this year they all did so well. So I was wondering how many people take ther kids to see fireworks? And if they are affraid of them or not? HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!

We have not yet had our fireworks display it will be on July the 4ht here. When my kids were young, yes they were scared but when they got older they loved it.I took my kids all the time to see the fireworks untill they were old enough to go on there own. Now they all have kids of there own and they all take there kids to the fireworks just like my hubby and I did with them.

Yeah, every year we go to the same spot to watch fireworks. The fireworks are at the park and we usually sit at a school in town. It's far enough away that you don't really hear the loudness that you would hear around the park. My son loves them! I do too! lol

My son has never seen big major fireworks so this year will be our first time this year. Not sure if we will be able to see the fireworks from our home but I'm hoping that we can. I know DC is going to be soooo busy and because its just my son and I, I think it might be safer for the two of us to remain at home. We can always watch it on tv :)

I never took my kids to see fireworks, but we used to go to visit my parents who lived in Chicago. We usually visited around the 4th of July, and in the neighborhood my parents lived in, all up and down the streets, people were setting off fireworks. There were many displays that looked like the big, professional fireworks that you'd see at a festival. Of course, fireworks are illegal in Chicago, but the police couldn't keep up with it all. My kids loved it. We sat out in the front yard in lawn chairs and watched. There is a huge event called Taste of Chicago that is always around the 4th of July, and there is an actual fireworks display on the 4th. We've never gone, because it's so crowded, and the show is probably just as good in the streets.

We go to the beach every year to watch the Canada Day fireworks. My childern used to be scared of the sounds and echoes off the water when they were young. I would just cover their ears and they would love watching the pretty colors in the sky. I was a kid in Toronto and saw really wonderful fireworks but now live in a small town in Nova Scotia. We wait here for a small show which if I didn't have kids I wouldn't bother going to.

When we were still living in Canada we'd go to see them all the time and set some off across the street at the park too..The kids also ALWAYS got the huge 2ft long sparklers which they loved...Living in NY though you cant buy them here which sucks (in ontario you can buy them at gas stations, trucks set up on the corner, Wal-mart etc etc) so we try to take them..Actually on July 3rd there is a display going off over the Lake Ontario and we're takin the kids to see that....

I don't have any kids but I know I would take them to fireworks, because as a kid I really enjoyed the loud noise and of course the sight of the explosion. If they didn't like it and were freaked, well then i would probably wait until they got a little older.

I love fireworks more than my kids and grandsons do. I have taken the grandkids a few times. My yougest grandson is autistic and when it gets dark he falls asleep. he sleeps through the loudness of the reports and all. But when awake he doesn't really seem to like them. My oldest grandson loves them. He keeps asking if I am geting some to shoot off myself this year. Well if they come out this weekend I am running to buy a large supply just for an evening of home shot fireworks. None that shoot up though as those are illegal in Minnesota. The ones we can shoot off are all sparkler types with whistling noises and bands and pretty colors. Hope they come out this wekend. Haven't heard yet as the daughter has an abcess and isn't feeling too well. On my way to pick the wife up on Wed evening (4th) I will be stopping downtown Minneapolis to watch the show along the Mississippi River. They usually have about a 35 minute show too. Long and beautiful set to music braodcast on a local radio Station. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Our kids are grown now but we use to stand out at our driveway where we use to live and watch two towns fire works. One to the Norhtwest and one to the Northeast. We enjoyed it and if we would go watch fire works we would drive to a local high school and lay on the grass in one of the ball fields and watch the fireworks. That was fun also. We did that several years.
