Hot or Cold?

I am living in a country where the weather is hot throughout the year. I never experienced winter *sigh* I wish to experience snow one day though the fact is that : I hate cold weather. My husband is from a cold country but I never visit his country during winter. It is weird for me, as I couldn't stand the air-conditioner or if it rains all day, I will shiver like being leave out in the snow! He always jokes with me that if I happen to live in a cold country, my life will be shorter than living in a hot country *smile* I guess he is right *wink* How about you my friends; do you prefer cold or hot weather?

I live in Hong Kong and we have 4 seasons around here. The winter is not really cold and we don't have snow. I love our winter because it's dry and it's not too cold. But it's really sad because in the news, it says after 50-60 years, we don't have winter anymore. I have been to the states in the winter before with snow. But I think I don't really like it because it's just too cold go out! I was totally moodless and I was absolutely lazy with that kind of cold weather. The snow is beautiful when it's just started to fall off but when it melts, it turns into nasty greyish color - yuck!

*laughs* You have to tell me if you figure out such a wonderful place! I know what you are talking about. It can be really hot and humid around here too and it's driving me and my skin nuts! Not to mention the stupid sweat - imagine dressing in all nice clothes and then walking out and getting soaked in sweat (and that would be me!), how fabulous can that be?

Hello wondericequeen, I think I have to figure out that special place first and let you know later *smiles* Well, I don't know why...I keep thinking you are a Singaporean though I know that you are in Hong Kong! Something is really wrong with my mind. I am not that crazy because of the hot weather. LOL! Argh! I really hate sweating too much. I don't like to go out during hot time and rather stay at home watching some DVDs. That is also the reason why I always spend my lunch time break in my office unless I have 'window shopping' to do *smiles*

Hello wondericequeen, I love to see the snow but I don't like to live in a cold country. I think, that is my final decision. *laughs* I couldn't stand the cold but the current weather in my country is very hot and humid. It really makes me tired and I don't like to sweat too. Well, I don't like both and I guess the best is just not too cold or too hot for me. Any good place? *laughs*

Just like here in the Philippines, we also have tropical climate. It's been humid and hot in here lately, though we should be experiencing a rainy season right now. I think it's better to live in a country with two seasons only, just like what we have here. I can't safely say that I'd get to used to cold/winter countries, because these countries have the tendency to have weather beyond our capacity..

Hello raijin, Maybe you are right. I always listen to my Japanese colleagues that they think it is good to have one season throughout the year. They spend a lot of money to buy different clothings for each season, and knowing those Japanese... they always want to be up-todate with their appearance *smile* So at least, we save the budget huh? *smile*

Hello zhizhong07, Thanks for your respond and sorry for my late reply. We are humans. That is how humans always think. Give you a hot sun, you want to have winter. Give you a longer winter season, you want to have your hot sun back *smiles* I think the same too!

uhh i live in a very warm country too! we don't get snow here either as it's warm throughout the year as well. because of this, i think i prefer cold weather :P ..i got to experience winter and snow when i was studying for my degree in the UK and i miss winter! people think i'm crazy because i miss the cold! well we don't get winter nor snow here, that's why i wanna experience it again. so whenever i go abroad for vacation, i try to pick a time when it's not too cold and not too hot, yet the weather is nice and cool..just to have a change of weather from my hot country.

Hello kevsgirlalways, Thanks for your response and sorry for my late reply. Yes, I am from a hot country too. That is why I do dream of living in a cold country. But I know myself better... I can't stand the cold and I don't think it will suit me. An air-conditioner can make me shiver so much and I don't even know how to live in a cold country *laughs* Well, it is just a dream and I won't make it a reality though...

i live in northern part of china where four season are cycling in a year and i like it very much, i especially don't like the hot weather throughout a year, and i can't put up with it. that's the reason why choose northern part as my home and working place and never go to south.

Oh definately cold weather - I can't stand the heat. I live in England, and my family are originally from Russia, so I guess I am genetically programmed to like the cold weather!! There is nothing I ate more than hot weather - I burn badly, I can't sit out in it at all, I can't sheep in it, and I get miserable, snappy and bad-tempered. Please give me rain and snow all the time!

Well gr8life....grass not always greener on the other side. If I have the choice, I prefer also in between. Not to cold and not too hot. Just enough. Winter didn't always fun as it sounds. Same goes for spring, summer and autumn. Every seasons has its own beauty and ugly. In the winter...sure it was nice to feel and see the snow flakes down from the sky. But soon as it the ground covered and the ice smelted....it's muddy, wet and the cold feels like biting. In autumn....sure it was nice to see the flowers blossom and everything start greener again. But then we have this hay fever and makes you sneeze the whole time....and believe me you won't like it. And so on...and so on... So...be happy that you won't have to wear thick jacket nor double clothes and won't feel the cold that feels like biting your skin.....

Until a year and a half ago, I lived where it was so cold and we would get piles of snow. I don't miss the cold or the snow. I don't miss shoveling wet, heavy snow to make a parking spot only to have a snow plow come along and push the snow back in and having to dig it all out again. I don't miss going outside and having your nose and eyes instantly feel so frozen it hurts. But here, it's so hot most days I can't breathe from it. I would wish for a happy medium, not hot or cold.

Hello dlkuku, Thanks for your response and sorry for my late reply. I think I want to agree with you. It is better if it is not too hot or too cold. It will be just nice to live *smiles* Right now, it is very hot though the time is already past midnight here. I don't like sweating too much. But given me a choice to have snow right now, I don't think I will accept that too *laughs*

I grew up in Wisconsin, U.S. It gets very, very cold there in the winters. The snow starts in November, and doesn't quit until April and sometimes May. For the most part, once the snow falls, it stays on the ground. It doesn't go away. Temperatures can be negative 30, in Fahrenheit, but with the wind chill, it can get to below negative sixty Fahrenheit. BRRRR! I hated it. I also lived in Hawaii for a while. It was beautiful. The weather was always warm, the rain was nice, and the air smelled beautiful. There is no snow there for the winter season, so it seems weird to me. I live in Pueblo, Colorado now. Our summers are usually around 100 degrees F, and our winters are generally pretty mild. There are many days you can go out in just a pair of jeans and a shirt. When it snows here, it is gone within a day or two. It's the perfect happy medium.

Hello hermitcrabheaven, Well, I do envy you! For me, there are 365 days that I can go out with just a pair of jeans and a shirt. You can even wear a pair of shorts and a sleeveless shirt any time, any where. You won't get cold *laugh*
