Am I too picky?

My brother-in-law took a bag of my popcorn to pop in his microwave and my husband went to get it (I told him that I was going to eat it while it was hot). Anyway, as always, when he visits his family, just a half minute walk from our door, he got doing other stuff and didn´t return for an hour! I knew the popcorn would be cold and didn´t want it anymore, so I just sent him a text message saying that he should give it to his brother instead. I planned to make my own hot popcorn here on the stove instead. Well, he came with the cold popcorn and I said that he could give it to his brother. He got very angry and took off. Then his brother came and gave me the popcorn again, my husband put it for another minute in the microwave. Well, now it is burnt, but I feel kind of obligated to eat it!

Ok. First, no... Popcorn is good cold but most microwave popcorn is much better hot. I don't think anyone like burnt popcorn so I'd say no you aren't too picky. Now if the popcorn had only been given to you 5 minutes late, then I'd say you were too picky. but an hour is not picky! Next... I'm wondering why your brother in law took a bag of popcorn to pop in his microwave (do you not have one) and why you couldn't go get it instead of your husband (just curious.)

It´s a bit complicated. I don´t get along with my inlaws very well, so if it is just for popcorn, I would rather not go to their place! We don´t actually have much of anything right now because we are building a house and don´t have a kitchen, my stove is outside under a piece of tin. No fridge, no microwave, etc. The popcorn I bought to make up on the stove, because it turns out pretty much the same and I´m a popcorn fiend. :D Anyway, my husband knows that I do it on the stove, but that is somewhat time intensive, so he told his brother to do him a favor and make it in the microwave, supposedly quicker! In the end, my toddler ate the popcorn, he doesn´t care about burnt food yet!

I figured you had a good reasoning for why you didn't do it yourself. Well at least someone ate the popcorn and it didn't go to waste :)

No you are not too picky. Some people like to eat things certain ways. I hate cold pizza. I am not a fan of hot pizza, but cold pizza is nasty. If my hubby brought me cold pizza, he would either eat it himself or it would be tossed. I know you spend all day taking care of your newborn and your son, and maybe you are letting things get to you a little more than they normally would. I would not have made a huge deal about the popcorn, I just would not have eaten it period.

You´re right, I should have just not said anything. :D I´m not good at keeping my mouth shut when I should, though.

We call this a storm in a teacup. Lose it without making a fuss. Burnt popcorn is foul. Your be stuck with the taste for hours.

The best popcorn is fresh from the heat however it was made, in the microwave or on the stove or with a popper it is always best ate warm with the butter still melty. I dont think that you are picky about it.
