my computer keep hanging, what should i do?

there are various reasons that can cause a system to hang up. it can be lack of system resources, i.e. your system has applications installed on it that use more resources than available. well i cant install vista as my system resources are below the lower limit for it. you may check out what all processes are present at startup. recently i had to deal with a case where the system hung up similar to your case because spyware doctor was enabled at startup. it not only slowed startup but also slowed the pc after that. another possibility is a virus or a spyware. go for a thorough scan and its good to do so in safe mode. use spyware terminator and adaware as no antispyware product is complete.
