Seems the avg is popular, but I will try the one you suggest. Thanks so much for responding! I just have a budget, you know? I earn money online and I know I need to protect this computer. It brings in too much money and more potential money to screw around. :)

Yes..avast is excellent..Glad you are using the computer to earn some money .. If you post here regularly you should get a few extra bucks monthly ..but it has to be consistent..they take your attendance into consideration;)+

Maybe I can suggest to you Avira AntiVir Personal Classic Edition. Since using this one, I never had problems at all and I am very much satisfied when using it. It updates regularly and can be scheduled at your most convenient time. It is very light on resources and does not eat a lot of memory. It does not slow down your computer. Its primary function and advantages is to provide protection against viruses, worms, and trojans, protection against dialers and phishing, and detects and delete rootkits. The product combines first-class detection rates and ease of use with a top performance that protects your computer safely. You can download this at www.free-av.com That's it. Have a great day.

If you're tired of computer viruses switching to a free linux system (such as Ubuntu) might be a good idea. Linux systems don't get computer viruses.
