What kind of sunscreen do you use when you plan to be long hours in the sun?

If you know you are going to be a long time in the sun what is the best sunscreen to apply? Do you think those that are more expensive are the better brands?:)+

Here down under (though Uruguay it's not Australia) sunbathing has become troublesome due to the ozone hole. It was not so when I was a child. My son's doctor told us to buy Anthelos W from La Roche-Posay. I think it's a French brand.

Banana boat tanning oil with sun block and in the spray bottle....smells great, works really well....which reminds me my bottle is low and I need to get some more....
