What goes on behind Notification?

Do mylot users use the internal messaging often to chat and make friends? i keep reading about people talking about "having friends" in mylot and wonder is responds to their discussion constitute "friends" or they is more to notification then it meets the eye.
do you use notification to talk about other things or do you post since posting will help in your earning?

I use instant messenger but mostly I've had it with people who's been in School with me or family relatives. It is a good tool to use to make friends without question. I would never dispute such a thing.
