About How Often Do You Purchase Socks?

I find myself having to purchase socks about every three months, regardless to how hard I try to keep up with them. I also have the hardest time keeping them clean. I try my best not to walk in just my socks, but sometimes I do forget. Then, when I do my laundry in the laundromat, I come back with every one else's socks but mine. I return theirs, but I never see mine again. So I have a bunch of single socks in my drawer and very few mates. So, I can't decide whether I want to spend a lot or a little on socks, since they wont be around for long. With the way my life has been going lately, I'll buy some cheap one's and they will be around forever.

I have two baskets full of odd socks. I think I might have some of your lost socks. LOL I find now that it is only my husband and I and I do our laundry, we have the same number of socks come out of the laundry as goes in. I have my own wash machiner and dryer that makes all the difference. I have been trying not to pay PG&E so I have been using the clothes line. I always use the clothes line when I can for towles, jeans, sheets, and dry colores and whites. I have now been hanging up the whites. I hate the look of undies on the line but no one can see it but me. LOL I have found out the socks stay put and do not run away off the line either. I am sorry to hear about your sock theifs, I just bought three pairs of socks from Kholes web page for 5.95 they are the mediam thickness.

So, I got a confession out of you. You're the sock bandit, he,he. Two baskets full, oh my, that is quite a few. Have a problem letting go, do ya? No I am just joking. It is very nice to have your own washer and dryer. I don't like using the dryer in my building, because if you forget something, you better well forget it, cause you will more than likely never see it again.

I am spoiled in that way by not having to go to the laundry mat. I have never thought of it I guess I have a problem getting rid of all the odd socks. Why do I keep them, I do not even look for matches in there. I guess I will just close my eyes and throw them in the trash, oh I have to make sure I put them in the trash can and not the recycle can. LOL Socks are such a pain when they do not match, but they are so good on our feet in the winter time.

Hi there. We purchase socks, everytime we see them on special, because here for a decent pair of thick socks, which we prefer, we would pay somewhere between 5 and 8 dollars...

I know what you mean, the prices of these things are sky high now. Things that are essential are becoming too expensive these days.

Go to the store...get a lingerie bag. When you take your socks off, put them in there. Leave them in their in the washing machine and dryer. When you get home, they should all be there. I always buy good socks, they seem to make my shoes fit and feel better.

This sounds like a very good idea. I will either have to do this or continue sinking too much money into new socks every year. I actually already have a netted bag that I could put the socks into to wash them. Thank you for the good idea.

I purchase a pack of socks once a year. I never walk in my socks by itself I always have slippers on over them so they want get dirty. I hate it when I lose a sock, but its been a long time since I have lost one in the drier.

I wish mine stayed around for a year and were still clean enough to wear in public. One thing about me is that I have to sleep in socks or my legs will hurt. I think it stems from poor circulation.

For myself I don't purchase socks often enough. I'm lucky if I go out to buy socks for myself once a year and I make do with what I have in my sock drawer. I did clean it out recently and I found some socks that I thought had gone missing. My kids on the other hand are forever buying socks. They seem to lose them very easily. When they do buy socks they get them at Walmart or Target where they can get four pairs for a few dollars.

Thank you for telling me about Target and Walmart. I was not sure if I could get good quality from these places. I usually buy my socks at the mall and I really can not afford to do that.

It seems to me that I buy socks every other month, not for me but for the kids. I hate trying to pair up socks, so they all go in a box and the kids get to pair them. After while I cant make any more pairs and have to buy more. I personally hate socks and wish I could wear sandals year round.

I know exactly what you mean. As soon as you decide to pair them up they all look exactly alike, but when you get ready to wear them, you see the difference. I wish I had kids to pair mine up for me.

I estimate their about 47.3 billion single socks in the world. Talk about lonely socks. Just think, if you could invent a sock mating service, you could make billions. I never seem to looose my socks or have many without mates. Just lucky I guess. But I understand your problem. I guess sock are similar to feet and have a tendancy to walk off on their own.

i buy socks only when i ran out of it. I take care of my things very well that i make sure that everything is okay and in good state. with regards to my socks, i hand wash them and use fabric conditioner in it. then when it dries, i put them together and keep them in drawers. since i value the socks, i don't often buy new ones. i just get one is i can see that one of my old sock has a hole already that it really needs to be changed. i don't often wear socks because i prefer to be in flipflops or sandals most of hte time compared when i use my rubber shoes.

I think I only purchase half a dozen maybe twice a year. I usually replace the ones with holes and that look or dirty (even after you wash then LOL). I walk around in my socks during winter time so I can see that you would need to buy them often. Stick with the cheap ones on sale, thats what I do!

i probably get some once or twice a year, depending on how quick they start looking ratty. most of the time i go around barefoot,so i don't wear them as fast as some do.

Don't you hate when you can't find a sock's mate? Arggg! I buy socks every few months too. I tend to pace a lot at home and I wear holes in the bottoms of my socks. I like buying funky socks, but they cost a bit much for me right now. I'll stick to cheap socks for the time being.:)
