Diabetic and taken insulin 3 time more than the regular dose....................

My uncle is diabetic since 21 years now he is arround 48 years old. he was adviced by the doctors that to take 12 units of insulin twice a day, once in the morning and once in the eveing. But today what happened is he has taken the correct dose in the morning and in the night he forgot him self that he has to take 12 units and by mistake he has taken 36 units that is three time more than the regular dose.........at this point what a diabetic should do any advice please...............
