When I was having trouble nursing my baby, a friend of mine told me that she used Blessed Thistle, which is some kind of herb or root. I never used it, but thought I might try with the next baby. Have you ever used it, before? Does it really increase milk production while nursing?

not sure but I would like to know also. My right boob doesn't release as much milk as my left odd huh but I guess she is fillng up because she doesn't act hungry after. I have been eating oatmeal. I read on the internet to eat oatmeal but to tell you the truth I don't know if its working. I think it has increased alittle bit but because I have been drinking more.

Once I ate vanilla icecream and the milk started coming out right away. I had to run into the other room to get my baby so she could feed, cause it was making my shirt wet. I am not sure if it would work everytime, or for every woman. But, it worked for me at least once. It wasn't good for my hips, though! But, I've heard that if a woman nurses long enough most of the pregnancy weight comes off.

I do the oatmeal thing and it works for me. It has to be real oats, though- you can't use the little flavored packets.

I did not try Blessed Thistle but I did try Fenugreek. Do NOT take that by all means. I did not have any problems but it gave my baby a lot of gas. It did increase my milk supply but only very little. Not worth the trouble.
