Ever had someone say they were going to show up and just didn't?

It's bad enough some friends or family get a way with the "eat and run" tradition. You know the kinds that comes over to make a plate, for themselves and the person waiting for them at home. They give kisses and hugs to everyone in the room and act as if they are really in a rush, but made the time to take 2 plates as if the house were the "Downtown Takeout Kitchen". Well, what about the chronic " I'm coming...."person, you wait for them, make a plate, go out of your way, then an hour passes...call them again to see if everything is ok....to hear again .."I'm coming, let me call you back"..now you ask yourself....should I stop callin... I mean if I gotta beg someone to come to an event...I start feeling like I am more their therapist..... Which one do you dislike more the "eat and run" or the CHRONIC "I'm coming" Which one showed up to your 4th of July...

I have very little problem with family doing it. But supposedly professional people in business have done it to me a lot lately. I needed some work done on my house and some yard that is more than I have time for. I have had several business representatives make an appointment to give me estimates and not show up. Guess what they will never ever get any business from me.
