Lymphedema anyone?

After 18 months of pitting edema and awful leg swellings and other symptoms I finally was able to get a referal to a vascular surgeon - he ordered testing to be done to determine if I have vascular insufficiency or lymphedema. Being indecisive as I am I have decided to have both! isn't that special? I start therepy for the lymphedema soon, but put the vascular surgery off for a while. Does anyone else here have lymphedema? how long have you had it? did you have trouble getting a diagnosis? have you been getting therepy? has it been successful? Is your lymphedema painful? (wondering if my pain is from the lymph or vascular) Do you have little blistery bumps?
