I think you should go for dell as that's the best around right now, and if your looking for high performance and portability then you can go for the XPS laptops, but if want good value for money then i think you should go for the inspiron variety as they are priced rather low.

My company is dependent on HP. All of our stuff in here are all hp-brand. That only implies that the said brand is excellent and been serving us (and still currently serving) for quite a time. Most likely, would recomment to have HP brand product as well.

if you looking for performance gofor sony vaio!sony vaio is best performance laptop among all lap!i just bought a brand new 'Acer' laptop.which is aspire 5050 series.i recommend acer if you are a budget conscious buyer because acer come with all features like wi-fi,dual layer dvd writer, duo core processor with 64 bit,and many more feature comparatively cheaper than any other brand. my acer config is AMD turion 1.6GHz Duo core 64,1GB DDR2 RAM,ATI 1100 Gfx with PS2.0,Dual layer DVD writer,120GB HDD,wi-fi,card reader, bth, integrated WEB CAM. and the price difference compared to other brand is about 8-10000 INR!ie it cost 42000 INR.although battery backup is only 2 hr because of AMD processor.and also it weighs 2KG.

That's great... I'm choosin between acer and dell... You're right, it comes with all features and its right in my budget.. But like any other buyer we have to think 100 times so we will not regret our decision so I still have more opinions before I take my final decision... d;) Thanks for the response! ;)

Well! I am a Dell girl and Dell will always be my first choice. However, I will also use a HP laptop. Dell however is definitely on the top of my list for computers and laptops. I have an HP at work and I have Dell at home.

Well, HP and Dell are available laptops in my work. I haven't tried using neither the two. :( Since you've been using both, can you tell me the difference and the specification of both laptops. Thanks in advance..;)

To tell you the truth they are so different, cause the one at home is an old one and is very slow. I am in the process of purchasing a Dell 110L from work. It is faster processor than what I have at home currently. I like dell because they do not give so many hassles and are long lasting. The after sales service and help is amazing with dell as well. They are also competitively priced here and makes for a good buy. As for HP well the work here just likes them best and believes in them. So I do not have a choice really, but the HP that I have has never given me any problems at all. Good luck... I hope you come right.

I have a Compaq(HP) that I got about a year ago and I have been happy with it. I didn't get a Dell because I have a Dell desktop and while I have been fairly happy with the computer itself, what little customer assistance I needed from them I was very unhappy with, I was lied to on several occasions and the only way I got the problem I had solved was by going through investor relations since I was a stockholder at the time. So that is why I don't recommend a Dell.

I think for buying a laptop, the processor speed and the heat sink are the two most important factors... Try to buy the AMD processor laptop as it heats less, and also make sure to buy it with the highest processor speed within your budget. Brand wise, i think Toshiba is among the best if not the best. After that you have lenovo, hp, acer and many more...

I have seen top of the line models of TOSHIBA and I really like it when it comes to the physical appearance of the laptop. But I don't know of anyone who is currently using toshiba. So I don't know if it's ok.

Fujitsu, Toshiba, IBM and Sony Vaio are 4 brands that I will reccomend. Currently, I am using a Fujitsu. What made me bought it? Everyone says its a good brand and that its made in Japan. More worth the money but I think that it is just assembled in Japan. THe components are still made elsewhere. IBM is good too because when I was working, I used a X31 and i dropped it on the floor and it still function well. Its quite rugged.
