When you were a kid, did your parents constantly bring up your past mistakes? Or, did they forgive and forget and let you move on?

My parents didn't rehash past mistakes. They dealt with the issue and that was usually the last we heard about it. I am grateful for that.

What I noticed with my dad is that he would dig up the past if I made the same mistake again. If I wanted him to stop doing that, all I needed to do was to learn from my mistake and be extra careful not to do it again. I think usually parents nag because they see that their kids are being stubborn too and doing the same thing over and over again even if they were already told that it was wrong.

just my mom-she never lets anything drop, and she still does this.probably why half the family isn't speaking to her,you get tired of it.

yes especially my mom.. it bad enough that you've done something really shameful and bad but to have them reiterited from time to time really tires your patience. it usually happens when i've done something that they think is wrong, they would start the arguments and talk about the past things and past mistakes. why are some people like this!

yes, they did and it made me sad when i thought about it but now that I have a kid of my own I don't want to commit the same mistake hence, i usually repriman her of the mistake she had done and when she did it again i told her to say sorry to me and i would say i forgive her.

My father is the world's worst about doing this. Bringing up past mistakes. I like to drop them and move on but he doesn't let you forget some of them.
