Studying sign language is one of my purposes which i would like to do in my life. Nowadays, most of people are interested in learning a lot of languages such as English,Spanish,Chinese...But to me,i like to learn sign language. The idea to learn this language appeared in my mind last year. I found it is very interesting and also it can help you to communicate with people who can't speak or hear. In my opinion, Sign Language is very miraculous, it can make eveybody together. It's a language of the soul. I borrowed some books about teaching sign language at my local library. And it's actually so hard. But i will try all my best to learn this language.now,at least i knew how to speak "I love you" by sign language. :)

I think it's great that you're learning sign language. I see this post was over a year ago, so you've probably learned it by now! But, I'm also attempting to learn sign language. When I'm good enough, I am hoping ot be able to intepret.

Sign Language is awesome. I grew up with kids that my mom babysat who's parents were both deaf and they knew sign language. It has always been an interest of mine but I am not fluent. I do know a lot though. I started teaching my daughter sign language and by the time she was 1 she knew over 25 signs. It is so good to know, I was able to help someone at the store once cause they were deaf and the sales person didn't understand what they needed. It is very rewarding and also it makes you smarter.

I also want to learn sign language. My one year old grandson is deaf and the whole family needs to learn sign language to be able to communicate with him. they are going to try hearing aids but they aren't sure if they will work. My three year old grandson is already learning sign language in the preschool program he is in.

I would say that is a pretty good purpose to have. It's very thoughtful of you, and I hope it will open up a whole new world of possibilities for you. Too bad that as you said, most people are interested in learning a second spoken language, when there is a very useful universal language out there! You should be proud!
