Roberto Del Rosario, a Filipino is claiming the right for the invention of a sing-along-system. That eventually led to the creation of the karaoke.

Sony developed the first karoke in Kobe, Japan in 1952..this was copied by many companies all over the world. Indluding the Philippines.

There are a lot of filipino inventors that is really great but most of them never had the budget to continue a project.. remember the florescent lamp? it was originally made by agapito flores, How about the M16 riffle? made and first designed by a filipino. http://inventors.about.com/od/filipinoscientist/p/karaoke.htm
