life and living it

For years now I have sat in the back while my wife has pursued her career. Although we both benifit from her drive, the family (2 wonderful children grown and gone) has had to make numerous sacrifices to meet her needs. I was lucky with some investments and was able to retire healthy and at a fairly young age. My wife will be retireing in a couple of years and we plan to travel throughout this wonderful and beautiful country. One night, while discussing our plans, out of the blue my wife said she wishes she hadn't pushed so hard looking for something that she already had. She realized how much she had lost for so very little gain. When the kids call they talk to me because it was such a habit not to disturb Mom when she was working. We now have our first grandchild:) and my wife is going to make sure she spends as much time as possible with our granddaughter. She is going to SPOIL her like you won't believe. You only go around once in this life so live it don't work it.
