SMC Team Pilipinas - Tough Road to Olympics

Any Filipino basketball fan here? Our very own RP team is currently preparing its way to the Olympics. The performance in the still ongoing Jones Cup is quite impressive ;) except of course for the two end game miscues against Lebanon and Japan w/c is quite understandable since the Team is on the "experimental stage".

Pare im a Filipino, andd youre right aour team is on its way to the Olympics in Beijing next year. Especially that impressive victory over the mighty US team, i bet you watch that too? I felt sorry for the two losses that we had especially that it was a gamepoint decision but at least we redeemed ourselves as we place a 1 loss record on the team that is expected to go unbeaten in this tournament. my hopes our high for our team. if ever RP team and US team clas h again who do you think will shine more,and do you mind if i ask who your favorite player is? pls reply tnx..

Yeah, only legitimate losses came from Jordan 70-74, and the Kazaks 90-107 (ouch!) Oh well, the more important games will be held in Japan.
Anyway, US AIA Team members are really athletic, hustlig all over the floor, and their full court press is really great. Very fast team indeed. We won bcoz they are poor shooters, hehe..lucky us. But I still believe we can beat them all over again.
I like Caguioa. When everyone else fails, he delivers. I also like Danny Seigle but I haven't seen him play with the team yet. I heard his performabce in their Iran trip was quite impressive.

parang si dondon hontiveros? hahaha. 2x sya may boo-boo sa end game, baka sa japan matakot na sya tumira during crunch time. sana si jimmy mag-step up as a leader, he's a prolific point guard!

I am very proud of our Philippine team when I heard the news that they were ableto beat the US team in Jones Cup. I am not familiar with the new players now. But during my high school till college days, I never missess any PBA games. Especially, the SMB team. I even followed the careers of Alan Caidic, Hector Calma, Jerry Codinera and others. The RP team they came from was a real winner.
HOw I miss watching the games in ULTRA (then).
I just hope this team keeps up their good work.

Watch out for Danny "The Dynamite" Seigle of SMB. He will play in the FIBA-Asia in Japan! Another explosive player aside from Mark "The Spark" Caguioa.
Kung hindi lang tayo na-suspend for two years ng FIBA, ganda sana ng chemistry ng team. Anyway, in the recently concluded Jones Cup, we placed 3rd!
