Nearly 100 million votes were cast in what is likely to be the biggest and controversial online poll at http://www.new7wonders.com The 7 "new" Wonders of the World picked by voters are: 1) The Great Wall (China) 2) Taj Mahal (India) 3) Christ the Redeemer (Brazil) 4) Petra (Jordon) 5) The Colosseum (Italy) 6) Chichen Itza (Mexico) 7) Machu Picchu (Peru) However, the UN cultural body that designates world heritage sites skipped the event. Others criticised the poll as deeply flawed and essentially a publicity stunt. Critics pointed out that nothing prevented multiple votes by fans, citizens, governments, tourism agencies or other interested parties. What is your opinion ? Do you think the poll was flawed ? Should there be an Official Poll conducted by UNESCO ? News available at: http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSL0614805520070708
