Best ways to Relax I am a Mother

I am a mother of three children ages 9, 8, and 6. It is very demanding at times and I stay at home with them. Sometimes I feel completely burned out. What do you suggest I do to relax or what are good ways to have alone time? Help. Thanks.

Is a Spa located near your house? If not, why not set up a mini spa for yourself. Buy some rich and luxurious bath products, candles and a bottle of nice champagne. Soak yourself in the bathtub, if you have. Otherwise, give yourself a nice scrub (but you can't scrub your back). If you can soak in a bath tub, then you can drink champagne at the same time and read a book. After everything, take some time to drink a cup of tea.

Great idea! And so inexpensive too. I do this occasionally after my entire family goes to bed. I have to wait until then or else everyone's hanging out in the bathroom with me. :o)

I am a sahm of 4 boys; 16, 13, 2, and 10 mths. I don't know what relaxing is except at nap time for the younger 2. The older 2 pretty much take care of themselves which is a blessing on my part. Your kids are young enough to still have some quiet time. I am not saying put them down for a nap, but set aside a certain time for an estimated 2 hours that they watch a movie and have quiet time. This will allow you to rest also. Its hard to find time for yourself when you have little ones and stay at home with them.

Wow your hands are full to. My kids like to sit and watch a movie but after awhile they will annoy each other.

I don't know how to paint my toes LOL I mess it up. The homemade mask sounds like a great idea.

Every woman loves a day at the spa! Or else go see a movie by yourself. Or the classic SHOPPING! :) I do all of the above. I also spend some alone time with the hubby too *wink*

Relaxing with childeren is there a bigger joke. No but seriously a bath once they are in bed is great. Or even a do it your self facial can be very relaxing and not at all expensive. I try to go out once a month with friends and just hang out for about three hours away from the kids and the husband it makes me remember who I am.

at least, seperate a special time for you for you to relax doing your hobby or just by taking a nap or rest to refresh yourself. 30 minutes is not too bad for your busy day.

My children are 8, 4, and 2, I stay at home with them also. I home-school the older one. I know exactly how you feel. When I have an extra stressful day, I let my husband know when he gets home from work. He will then make sure to give me an hour or two of complete alone time. I can do whatever I want, and he makes sure the kids, dogs, etc, leave me alone. We do have a bit of a quiet time during the day, but it is usually not enforced unless the kids are extra wound up. Then they have to choose a quiet activity to do, while I chill out, and regain my composure. Not very much help, but I'll be watching this one to see what others do. :o)
