I have a fever, so I'm wrapped up in two blankets and absolutely FREEZING even though it's over 90 degrees in the house. I've had a sore throat for a few days now, no appetite, a headache, body aches and my ears hurt. I need some sympathy, guys... Has anybody else come down with something similar? Did you see a doctor about it or did it go away on its own? Are there any non-disgusting home remedies I can try? I've been trying to sip tea and water all day and I've managed to get some food into me, but nothing even sounds good and I pretty much have to choke it down. Help!

I am sorry you don't feel well. It's so hot here outside. And it's cool inside because of the air-conditioner. So it's very easy for us to catch a summer-time flu. I am having it right now. It's a bad feeling, as it's much more suffering than the flu in the winter. I am not going to see the doctor, because it's not so serious anyway. Actually going to see the doctor is another kind of suffering because it's so crowded and I have to wait for a long time. I try to drink more water and have a good sleep. After all, this kind of problem will be disappeared after a few days.

I haven't thought about that, you. That is so true. We are in and out so much...inside where it is cool with a/c and then out when it is so hot. Our bodies do not adjust so quickly with the sudden change of temperatures.

I went to the doctor this morning. Turns out I have a throat infection so I'm on antibiotics for the next week. Thank you everyone for your replies.

You're not alone. I work in a place where there are 80 some employees, and several of them have been sick. Thankfully, I haven't gotten it yet, but so many exposures, I fear my turn is coming. Get well soon.

I'm so sorry you are feeling so lousy...esp here during the summer! I haven't heard of anyone having anything like that around here. You really should go and see your Dr right away. He/she can give you something to help you feel better. I'm sure it is not impossible to get the flu during the summer! I hope you feel better really soon! God bless.

I had the summer-time flu a few years ago and it was bad. I was dizzy, had a headache, runny nose, and a dry cought. Now I think I am getting it again this year. I think it might come from being outside and active for a certain amount of time and then you go in the air conditioning for a couple of day. The last time I had it the doctor gave me antibiotics and that was it and a got better in a few days.
