Are you pressured to make your family seem perfect?

When I was younger, I never told anyone about our family problems because I felt that I had to give people the impression that our family was perfect. But now that I have my own family, I don't feel this pressure anymore. I get more advice sharing with other mothers the troubles we go through. But I noticed among some of my friends that they will always make an effort to let their family appear perfect to the public that it also becomes stressful to them. Do you try to make your family appear to be perfect? Why do you think some people would do this?
