So sleepy...

I'm so sleepy right now. it's almost 10 pm and that is actually early for me. Sleep is a funny thing lately. Either I feel like i haven't gotten enough sleep at night. I wake up in the am and want to roll over and hit snooze several times. Or I feel like I have gotten too much and I wind up getting up and being stiff and cranky and sore. So how does one get the happy, restful night sleep effect? Any suggestions. I have taken tyenol pm and other over counter meds to try and relax me and put me to sleep but to no avail. I changed pillows, tried soothing sounds from a sound machine, and even spraying aromatherapy spray on the pillows. Nothing. Now, with that being said, I am under some stress from work lately and do have a lot of stuff on my mind lately, but not enough to distract me from sleep that much. I do wake up sometimes at night, not long, but enough to be annoying and to keep me glancing at my alarm clock. grr! What to do?

If you have any stressful notions in your mind, its easier to sleep if you help work those things out of your mind. No one sleeps well with worries on their mind. Some say that warm milk helps. Also, not that I advocate it, but many say when they start reading at night, it makes them sleepy.

I appreciate the advise. Unfortunately, I'm a nerd who likes to read and it can actually keep me up for hours!
