Hi MigenKC, if ever you're not satisfied with Avast, why not give a try Avira AntiVir Personal Classic Free Edition. It's very light on resources. Its primary function and advantages is to provide protection against viruses, worms, and Trojans; protection against dialers and phishing; and detects and delete rootkits. More than 15 million users worldwide trust in the reliable protection of Avira AntiVir, and this is no coincidence at all. Avira has gained several awards. The product combines first-class detection rates and ease of use with a top performance that protects your computer safely. You can download this at www.free-av.com. It really gives me satisfaction when using this one. By the way, you can schedule and/or manually update and scan this at your most convenient time. That's it. Have a nice day! Regards,

braveheart07, what do you prefer the best, avira or avg? I'm using avg now in my laptop and it didn't clean ravmon anti-virus. Will avira totally clean it for me along with popular viruses or trojans out there?

NOD32 is better than Norton because its lightweight yet powerful. If you prefer a free antivirus I would recommend Avast! which as powerful as NOD32.

I recommend try Comodo antivirus program it is free full version for lifetime yet very powerful that outperform any other vendor doesnt hog your system that causes hang-up of your program and slow down the performance of your system. Another additional install a firewall professional that gives maximum protection against internal and external intrusion of hackers.

I am using AVG Free Edition.. why? well only because its free to download, and it only consumes a little space. I seldom use norton anivirus, because it consumes a large amount of memory...specially during start-up/boot-up.It's not advisable to use norton for a slow computer..If you want to use norton better upgrade ur PC.. to something new. but u want a free one right? so you can have the AVG anti virus. they even have an anti-spam too! :)

How far have you made the testing on Antivirus after downloading? I think Avast is good for offlining to update the definition after downloading. And Avg is too. Avst is better. But I have not found any antivir offline updating yet for my friends.

You can use an online scanner if you cannot remove a certain virus. here's the link: www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
