Hi, guys! I've a little problem with weight. A few months ago, my doctor said that i'm 5 pounds overweight. He recommended that i must loose this weight in order to be more active and healthy. So, i promised myself to go to the gym but until now I actually haven't gone to the gym. And i'm beginning to feel that i'm gaining more weight. I'm afraid to try crash diets and i don't have much time to go the gym. What shall i do? I want to at least loose the 5 pounds in a couple of months...is that possible? and how?

My husband lost about 14 pounds in a month when we altered our eating habits. He drank alot of water and had no sodas. We used low-fat salad dressing and mayo. No canned foods at all except tuna in water and pineapple in its own juice. No deep-fried anything and very little oil in cooking. Lots of protein and veggies. He also had protein bars and low-cal snacks to have 3 times a day between meals. I guess snacking right helped his metabolism keep going. He gets very little exercise with his job and he has little energy after work. Just changing the eating did it. Hope this helps. :)

Even if you are eating out, you should be able to change things somewhat. Lay off the bread, deep-fried items and gravies. Avoid soda. Order tea instead. Have very little potato. Get rice instead. And don't load with butter. Don't get things that are breaded. Get broiled. Order the salad with low-fat dressing on the side. Don't get the creamy dressings if you can help it.

great!!! this is a real success story. I do think i should change my eating habits too...because i really like eating and i hate to starve myself. Problem is i'm not the cooking at home so i do not really get to choose what food is served. Anyway, i'll try eating more moderately now and be concious of what i am eating. :)

Do not go on a crash diet. My advise is to find a sport or other form of training method that you can enjoy and then just eat healthier. You weight does not matter and if you train in gyms and other stuff that will give you some muscles then you will gain wieght but if you look and are healthy the weight does not matter

Thanks for the suggestion! :) I really intend to go the gym but first i think i'd like to join some cardio-aerobics class just start burning calories and loose weight. Then later, perhaps, i'll try toning the muscles... :) But what i really needed right now is to find some time to do this because my schedule is quite tight. i also enjoy badminton but its hard to find a partner because my friends are quite busy too and they really don't give it much priority because their weight is okey. I also hate to put some pressure on them just for my own benefit.

hi. have no fear. i know how you can losse lots of weight and fast. I know becuase i gained weight and lost much of it in the past few months. you see, i just finished my first year of college in which i did great grade wise, but I managed to gain 40 pounds!I was discouraged, but i signed up for a class that helps you learn about navajo culture in which you travel to New Mexico for two weeks and when I returned home i realized that i had lost 16 pounds in two weeks! crazy huh? The answer to your problem is proper diet and exercise. we ate three meals a day, some that consisted of no meat and every snack we had was some type of fruit. We didn't eat past 9pm and we exercised everyday when we went on long hikes in the desert. I am sure that the heat played a big role in my weight lose, but i read that the average person burns about 600 calories during a half hour of rock climbing.I suggest u go rock climbing for about five days a week for two weeks and you are bound to loose much weight.

wow! that's really an amazing weigth loss program! you do not only get to travel, learn a new culture and have a little adventure but you also loose weight. I wonder if there is a program like that in our country... :) I guess i should settle with the gym first and then perhaps suggest that they also have that kind of program. It's really something new!!!
