2001 Pontiac Sunfire

Just got a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. The owners manual is missing. I'm getting a check light coming on the dash, but don't know what it is in regards to. It doesn't say check engine, just a check sign and a picture of a water container. The fluid levels are fine, but does anyone know what it means? Thanks.

I have a 2003 Sunfire and my check guages light comes on when I am low on gas. Have you had any work done on it lately, sometimes a check light will come on after work on the fuel or emissions systems

Oh yeah, one more thing.. You can probably download a manual on your computer by goign to Pontiac.com

The owners manual would not help you know what the problem is. A check engine light just let's you know there is a problem that needs to be checked. To know where the problem is you have to pull the code from the computer. You can either purchase a scanner or have a shop pull it for you. Only after knowing what code it is throwing can you start to guess what the problem may be.
